Classes pertaining to your major are no substitute for real-world job experience and this internship does not consist of typical thankless and menial work but provides a true hands-on experience through direction and personal management. Completing this internship experience will help put you at the top of the list among job candidates.
The Stop Abuse For Everyone Project Manager position is an excellent opportunity to put your business and management education to good use. You will be trained on how to manage projects and effectively work together as a team on group projects. You will be responsible for assisting in organizing tactical plans to help our collective projects.
Desired skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to work well in an open team environment
- Self-motivated and can manage multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to learn fast
- Has some coursework or experience in business or project management
- Consistent with meeting project deadlines and excellent time management skills
- Think strategically about every task assigned, and possible ways to improve efficiency
Duties Include:
- Product development
- Collaboration with other interns on group projects
- Create PowerPoint presentations and marketing materials
- Work with Public Relation interns on promoting events
- Collaborate with Video Production Director on new educational videos or documentaries
- Post articles, announcements, and photos to our social media platforms
- Communicate with high-level members within SAFE’s networks (e.g. members, advisors, media contacts) as well as, with SAFE’s management team
By the end of this training interns will have learned to:
- Participate as part of a team, on shared assignments and projects
- Work efficiently in an environment where regular appraisal/evaluation offers opportunities to give and receive feedback
- Gain a true understanding of what it means to collaborate with a diverse group of people
- Establish relationship development with writers and contributors to the website
- Organize various events, meetings, and conferences
- Demonstrate valuable teamwork skills
- Improve personal presentation and communication skills
- Assist with program execution

This position is open to students or graduates of any college or university. The students’ interests must lie in project management. Interns must be authorized to work in the US.
College Credit:
While this is an UNPAID internship, student interns will have an opportunity to receive college credit. Contact your undergraduate advising officer for more information on academic credit.
