“…The National Center on Aging reports that approximately 1 in 10 Americans age 60 and older has experienced some form of elder abuse. But only 1 in 14 cases is reported to authorities. Nearly 45 million Americans are age 65 or older. Not only do older Americans now comprise 23 percent of the total population, but they are also living longer. And their numbers are projected to reach 98 million by 2060. …”
