We are looking for an intern to assist with our social media marketing efforts. You will learn the ins and outs of our organization and how to make social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts for a non-profit organization.

Desired SKILLS:

 • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
 • Be creative with an eye for design
 • Knowledge of digital media software — Photoshop or other graphic design software, etc. is preferred
 • Knowledge of digital media software — Adobe, iMovie is a plus
 • Knowledge of social media — Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln, YouTube, blogs, etc.
 • Willingness to create video blog posts, write blog posts, and Facebook, Twitter posts daily
 • Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
 • Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that group through social media
 • Experience proofreading and editing
 • Expert Research skills

 • Interest in social issues preferred.

Duties Include:

 • Being the authorized voice of the Men’s E-News  by managing our online presence.
 • Assisting with the management of profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
 • Uploading videos, photo albums, etc.
 • Finding users to follow/friend/like our organization
 • Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc.
 • Tracking the growth and the impact of social media on our business
 • Replying to comments, messages, etc.
 • Report findings to the team
 • Consistently learn and grow, ask pertinent questions
 • Minor video editing skills are a plus

 • Serving as the information hub, communicator and daily monitor for online activities within Men’s E-News.
 • Managing our online media, messages and emails, monitoring for inappropriate content, spammers or content that can be promoted.
 • Overseeing all of our social networking and recommending new programs as they become available.
 • Managing positive community site experience through customer service and support.
 • Participating in forums, blogs and relevant communities representing Men’s E-News.

 • Constant research pertaining to any up-and-coming social networks
 • Send out press releases through online tools
 • Post intern postings
 • Research, write and edit social media content
 • Website and social media optimization

By the end of this training the trainee will have learned to:

 • Fully understand the industry and member knowledge
 • Compile a portfolio of completed assignments at the end of the internship
 • Gain an advanced understanding of current social networks
 • Obtain experience in up-and-coming social media outlets
 • Connect the importance of up-to-date social networking within an organization
 • Understand how social networking is beneficial to an organizations growth

Graphic Arts

Duties Include:

 • Designing various types of brochures, ads, flyers, and graphics on a project-to-project basis
 • Developing a product line and making changes for future season’s product line
 • Creating rough drafts, converting it to the computer and website, and coloring and texturing of  designs for the projects at hand
 • Working as a team with other interns to assure office communication and organization
 • Completing long-term projects assigned by hierarchy

By the end of this training the intern will have learned to:

Project Management

The Stop Abuse For Everyone Project Manager position is an excellent opportunity to put your business and management education to good use.  You will be trained on how to manage projects and effectively work together as a team on group projects. You will be responsible for assisting in organizing tactical plans to help our collective projects.

The Fundraising Intern will need to posses excellent communications skills and enthusiasm. The main objective in this position is to increase the organization’s contributions made by individuals, members, other organizations, and companies. This is best done by building relationships and exploring new fundraisingopportunities from various sources. The ability to network is paramount in this position, since success in this role depends heavily on being able to forge positive relationships with supporters. The Fundraising Intern also works to raise awareness of the organization’s work, aims and goals.

As a small non-profit we are looking for an intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations field.  • Knowledge and experience with any of the following a plus: Joomla, JavaScript, PHP, XML; SQL databases.

Duties Include:

 • Participate in website redesign and content review.
 • Website layout and interface creation and implementation, including graphics creation (banners, titles, buttons, etc.)
 • Edit and update existing website content.
 • Coordinate content updates and uploads to the websites.
 • Review and provide regular statistical and analytical reports of website traffic.
 • Integrate Blog applications and Social Networking functions into the websites and/or work with them in a stand-alone environment.
 • Keyword review and analysis.
 • Ad banner creation.
 • Cross-browser testing and troubleshooting.
 • Work as a team with other interns to assure office communication and organization.
 • Complete long-term projects assigned by hierarchy.

By the end of this training the trainee will have learned to:

 • Add real-world professional web production experience to their educational credentials.
 • Improve their knowledge and skills in numerous aspects of Web Development.
 • Compile a portfolio of completed assignments at the end of the internship.
 • Participate as part of a team, on shared assignments and projects.
 • Work on a strict deadline.
 • Build relationships through various networking channels.
 • Utilize teamwork skills.

Length Requirement:

We have Spring, Fall, and Summer internship programs available.  Upon successfully completing the program, interns will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Letter of Recommendation.  For more information on program length and hour requirements, email director@stopabuseforeveryone.org

Specifications:

This position is open to students enrolled at any college or university or a graduate looking for real-world experience. The students’ interests must lie in web development.

College Credit:

While this is an UNPAID internship, student interns will have an opportunity to receive college credit. Contact your undergraduate advising officer for more information on academic credit.
